Gerald Patton, Tenor

Gerald Patton is a native of Lebanon but currently resides in Murfreesboro, Tennessee where he is the choral director at Blackman High School. Mr. Patton earned his B.M. degree from Middle Tennessee State University in 1998 majoring in voice and choral/general music education.  He received his M.M. degree with a specialization in choral conducting in 2004 from Austin Peay State University located in Clarksville. Some of his master teachers include Drs. Sharon & George Mabry, Ms. Dina Cancryn, and Dr. Nancy Boone-Allsbrook.

Gerald Patton began performing and singing at the age of five. Although a trained classical singer, Mr. Patton also enjoys singing contemporary Christian, gospel and hymns of the church. Some of his favorite Christian artists include Donnie McClurkin, Chris Tomlin, and Cece Winans.

In addition to teaching, Mr. Patton serves as worship leader for The Awakening contemporary worship service here at the Lebanon Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Mr. Patton is a board member and audition chair for the Middle Tennessee Vocal Association and holds memberships with the MENC and TMEA. Finally, Mr. Patton is a long time talent judge at the Wilson County Fair.

Kelli Cox, Piano

Kelli Cox is a vibrant part of the Nashville music scene.  She plays everything from choral concerts, to country and rock and roll and has performed with many well-known artists.  Kelli has her own six piece jazz group, The Kelli Cox Collaborative, which is making its way on the jazz scene across the country. The Kelli Cox Collaborative will be one of the featured artists at the Murfreesboro Jazz Festival on May 5, 2012.   Finally, Kelli is the commercial piano instructor at Trevecca University.

Johnie Payton, Narrator

Recently retired, Johnie Payton taught nearly 40 years as a music educator finishing her teaching career here in Lebanon, Tennessee teaching fourth through sixth grade general music at Castle Heights Upper Elementary School. Ms. Payton holds a degree in vocal music education from Middle Tennessee State University.  Ms. Payton remains active in the community recently singing at the Lebanon Rotary Club Veterans Day Program where she received a standing ovation after her performance.
